Community Standards

I agree to support Principia's community standards throughout my entire visit. These standards apply whether on or off campus and include refraining from smoking, purchasing or consuming alcohol, engaging in sexual activity, or taking illegal drugs. Anyone violating these standards during a visit will be asked to leave campus and may be asked to return all travel fund assistance.

STUDENT VISITING WEEKEND AT PRINCIPIA COLLEGE WAIVER

WAIVER AND RELEASE I am voluntarily participating in the admissions weekend and assume all the risks associated with a college visiting weekend. I agree to hold The Principia, its employees, trustees, agents, representatives, and volunteers fully harmless from any claims or actions arising from my visit to Principia College and participation in the activities of the admissions weekend.

ANTICIPATED ACTIVITIES. I understand I will be interacting with college students over the age of 18 and other minors who may be present. I also understand I may be traveling in vehicles to and from Principia College and in the surrounding area. I understand I may be engaging in activities typically found on a college campus and will be staying overnight in a college dorm room. I give my express permission to participate in all the activities Principia provides during an admissions weekend. I have been given a full opportunity to ask questions and have received sufficient answers regarding anticipated activities and risks.

I AGREE I HAVE, IN ADVANCE OF MY VISIT, FULLY PROVIDED PRINCIPIA WITH FULL NOTICE OF ANY UNIQUE NEEDS OR SPECIAL SERVICES I MAY REQUIRE. (This notice includes all physical, mental, or emotional needs I may require.) It is my responsibility to be certain that I travel with all necessary medications. I understand the Principia College campus is a rural college campus and that emergency medical care can take 20 to 30 minutes to respond to a 911 call.

APPROVAL FOR CONSENT AND VISIT. I understand that a visit to Principia College involves risks and I accept personal responsibility for my own decisions. I am sufficiently mature enough to safely spend one or more days and nights on a rural college campus and make wise and appropriate decisions for my own safety and well-being. I know to contact the Dean of Student’s Office, the College Campus Security, or my hosting student if at any time I feel unsafe. If I have any concerns or questions regarding the nature of the risks to which I may be exposed during this visit, I will speak with the College Dean of Students or a member of the Admissions Office PRIOR to my visit.
